Accepting the Award, Dr. Al-Yabhouni said: “We are delighted to have been recognized for our company’s commitment to meeting the needs of our strategic partners and the expectations of our customers.”
“We consider this award as the crowning moment for ADNATCO and NGSCO’s continued efforts aimed at strengthening its reputation as a shipping company with realistic strategies, sound business principles, superb services, and prudent policies in an economic and operating environment that remains full of challenges.”
“As a company working worldwide in transporting diversified products of the hydrocarbon chain, we strive to serve our customers through reliable ships supported by qualified and industry-certified teams, thereby ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible transportation of cargo.
“As the shipping arm of ADNOC and its Group of Companies, we extend our gratitude to ADNOC for their trust and support over the years which enabled us to meet the market challenges of the maritime industry.
“Winning SKEA Awards will only motivate us further to continue to deliver solid business performance and to maintain our position as a well-established company with one of the best emiratization records and a growing maritime operator with the most diversified fleet in the region.”
“As the marine industry experiences challenges in adopting skilled employees worldwide, ADNATCO and NGSCO has over the years strove to build a national pool of UAE seamen through its flagship cadetship program which has already produced more than 300 UAE national officers and engineers including Captains and Chief Engineers. Many of them currently hold senior positions in the country’s maritime industry.”
“Finally, I would like to congratulate the company’s employees for delivering this milestone success and thank our partners and customers for their trust and support over the years. And I would like to underline that this award is also recognition for our collective efforts to build a successful business relationship model.”
As part of a strategy to consolidate and re-engineer the existing structures of ADNATCO and NGSCO and to provide integrated support services, the functions of the two companies’ support services were merged in 2009. This led to the expansion of the fleet by 17 more new vessels in 2010-2011. With the new ships, ADNATCO and NGSCO emerged as a major regional shipping company with diversified ships varying between LNG, bulk carriers, chemical and products tankers as well container vessels.
The company also invested heavily in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by developing and implementing a project geared to achieve significant reduction in ship energy consumption by millions of dollars in savings, and cutting thousands of tons in CO2 emissions.
To further address the company’s increasing demand for cutting edge technology and for achieving higher efficiency in the light of its expanding fleet; ADNATCO and NGSCO implemented an integrated ERP business solution utilizing SAP technology. The new technology allowed the company to deal in real time management information and to enhance business processes as per the industry’s best practice
